Shared Experience by Mariella

Hello, I am Mariella Mifsud and I was going through your site for the first time and saw your name. I would like to congratulate you and other counsellors for the dedication you put to us mothers.

I take this opportunity to thank you for helping me, on the phone and for several times, when I encountered 'problems' with breast- feeding my baby boy. He is now  a 16-month old healthy, contented and a wise little boy and he still breast feeds. We are very close and my husband adores looking at us. He says these are 'special moments'. I now recall how I used to think that I do not produce enough milk because I am not big and how some family members used to tell me that it's a hunger cry and that I should start to bottle feed him. I was stubborn to continue but needed help and desperately needed to talk to someone 'who knows'. But I then phoned you and you encouraged me, even once, when Andre' was crying so much and my sister spoke to you, you did not give up, instead you suggested she should drive us round the block maybe that is how to calm him; and he did stop crying. So he was not hungry, I said to myself it was like magic and I felt so much better. I am now very proud and encourage others to do the same. I am sorry that some people just say no and do not even want to give it a try

Thank you again as you were our help and I will never forget that.  God bless you, sincerely.

Mariella
